Brianna and Mike’s Hall of Springs Wedding

This post is filed under: Real Wedding | Direct Link: Brianna and Mike’s Hall of Springs Wedding

We love to feature weddings at the beautiful Hall of Springs, but during winter time it gives it a whole new feel. Brianna and Mike were lucky enough to get some snowfall a few days before their wedding which resulted in some AMAZING pictures. The couple did a great job in personalizing the entire day to really make it their own. I’m also in love with the fact that the bride and her bridesmaids wore Ugg Boots! There are so many things you can do with a winter wedding that you wouldn’t be able to do in any other season. Read what Brianna and Mike did to make theirs special and unique!

Describe how you and your husband met: My husband and I met in middle school. He was my first boyfriend, my first kiss, my first love! We dated on and off until our junior year when we got back together for good and have been together ever since… 8 years!!

Overall, how did your wedding planning go? The wedding planning was great! It was fun, stressful, exciting, and overwhelming all mixed into a quick year and a half.

How did you decide on which vendors to choose for your wedding? I did a lot of online research before choosing each of our vendors. I probably did consultations with 5 different florists before I chose my amazing floral designers (Anthology), for the band we went to Vapor Night Club at least 3 different times to listen to the New York Players live before booking them, the Hall of Springs I knew I had to have our reception at the minute I stepped in their doors! Our Videographer, Ray Zanta, does the video for our dance recitals (my family owns The Bolton Dance Academy in Glens Falls) so that was a given. The photographer was just about the most important decision to me and after visiting every blog in the area, Luke Walker seemed like the right fit for us, and the stationary we did ourselves! We could not find any invitations that we were thrilled with, so we decided to order some material, and we designed and created them ourselves. After seeing how much everyone loved the invitations and our personal touch we knew we had to do everything else; the programs, table numbers, place cards, etc….

What made you decide on having a winter wedding? We chose a winter wedding because we love the Christmas season! It is such a special time of year filled with so much love, family togetherness, and beauty, not to mention the fact that it’s unique as not many people get married at that time of year, so we knew it was the perfect time for us! We were so thrilled when we got snow the Monday before our wedding so we could get those beautiful snowy pictures we longed for, and Luke Walker certainly gave us those!

How did you come up with your color scheme/theme? In picking our colors we knew that we didn’t want the traditional red and green that I think most of our guests were expecting. We seem to be drawn to earth tones; brown, mochas, tans, but wanted to glitter it up a little so we went with a Silver & Gold, and a bit of brown scheme.

What do you think made your wedding unique? I think what made our wedding unique was the amount of personalization we put into it. All of our stationary was hand made, for our guestbook we had a tree with a basket of ornaments next to it for people to autograph and write there words of wisdom and then place on the tree, some members of our family made their special desert that we have each year at Christmas time to go on our desert table, and all of our table numbers were pictures of different experiences, travels, and mutual likes thus far in our life together.

What was the most memorable moment of the wedding? The most memorable moment of the wedding for me was our first dance. I am a dance instructor (although ballroom is not something I teach nor am familiar with) but dancing is my passion. Mike took lessons for a year, learned a choreographed routine and danced with me to the song that has been “our song” since 7th grade! So it was very very special and memorable to me!

Do you have any advice to give to future brides? My advice for future brides is to enjoy every minute of it because it goes by faster than you can imagine. And it is all worth it!!

What’s next for you as a couple? What’s next for us is our honeymoon in June to Secrets Maroma Beach! We didn’t want to do our honeymooon right after the wedding and miss the holiday’s with our family so we will be going the 2nd week in June and can not wait!! :)
